AICE Course: Church Ladies’ Conversations

Joshua instructed the children of Israel to mark their safe crossing of the Jordan River by selecting stones for display so that future generations could see the stones and remember their past; and Ziggy Marley warns, “Don’t know your past, don’t know your future.” Join author Dr. Martia Goodson in searching Church Ladies: Untold Stories of Harlem Women in the Powell Era, an oral history of Harlem 1920-1970, for stonelessons that Abyssinians can learn for our church’s future.

This two-session course is especially for those who have read the book about Abyssinian women of the Powell years in Harlem and Washington, D.C. Learn details of that history, hear opinions and offer reactions to these reminiscences. You can also get your copy of Church Ladies signed by the author.
