Our program of Core Classes invites youth and adults to explore the Word of God, by learning how to read, interpret and understand the Bible.

AICE

AICE’s mission: To support the walk of faith by encouraging a quest for understanding; extend a relevant teaching ministry to Abyssinian members and the community-at-large; and seriously engage the relationship between faith and social witness.

Christian Parenting 101 – Baby Blessing

Meets 3rd Wednesdays, 6:00PM - 7:00PM

Course Location: Beginners Nursery.

This one-evening class is required for all parents who wish to have their child blessed at The Abyssinian Baptist Church.

Course Description

New member classes impact foundational knowledge about Jesus Christ & Salvation, Baptist Polity & Practice, Abyssinian Church History, and Worship & Stewardship. This class does not meet on the 5th Sunday of the month.

“WE” – The Worship Experience for Youth

Meets Sundays: 9:15 AM - 9:20 AM (Black History); 9:20 AM - 9:45 AM (Praise & Worship, Devotion); 9:45 AM - 10:00 AM (Sermon); 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM (Bible Study)

Course Locations:
Bible Study grades 1-4: Fellowship Hall
Bible Study grades 5-12: Vestry

Course Description

All youth of the church are invited to participate in “WE,” the worship experience designed specifically for today’s youth and their relationship with the Living God through Christ Jesus.

8:45 AM – Breakfast

9:15 AM –   9:20 AM – Black History Moments in Time

9:20 AM –   9:45 AM – Devotion (Praise & Worship/Prayer/Celebrating Success/Meditation)

9:45 AM – 10:00 AM Sermon – Minister Vin Baker, Youth Minister

10:00 AM – 11:00 AM – Bible Study (Grades 1-4 – Fellowship Hall/Grades 5-12-Vestry)

Beginners: Ages 2-5 – Nursery and 1st floor Conference Room.

 

Rotation Model – 11:35 AM – 1:15 PM.  A program designed for children whose parents work both the 9 AM and 11 AM worship services.  After a light snack, children participate in a variety of exercises that reinforce motor and cognitive skills.
