The King Is Coming

Holy Week begins as we remember Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem. Palm Sunday invites us to celebrate Christ as King while preparing our hearts for the journey that leads to the cross.

The Table Is Set

Gather for a moving evening of sacred music and devotion featuring the Cathedral Choir’s presentation of Hall Johnson’s Son of Man. This meaningful service reflects on the Last Supper and Christ’s commandment of love as we prepare our hearts for Good Friday.

He Did It Anyway

On Good Friday, we gather in solemn worship to reflect on Christ’s suffering and sacrifice. Through prayer, Scripture, and reflection, we remember the depth of God’s love revealed on the cross.

Over 200 years of faith, justice & community.

The Abyssinian Baptist Church is one of America's oldest and most storied congregations — a historic institution at the heart of Harlem and the heart of the movement. We are a church that preaches the gospel, confronts injustice, and builds community for everyone who walks through our doors.

Under the leadership of Senior Pastor Rev. Dr. Kevin R. Johnson, Ed.D., Abyssinian is stepping boldly into its next chapter — honoring a powerful legacy while growing deep and growing wide for generations to come.
